Lori Corn, MS – NCREW Program Director

Posoh! My name is Lori Corn. I am the newly hired Program Director for the NCREW (Native Collective Research Effort to Enhance Wellness) program. I am happy to be part of the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council (GLITC). I am located at the Shawano, Wisconsin, satellite office.

I am a member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. I lived most of my life on the Menominee Indian Reservation. I attended the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay and St. Norbert College for my undergraduate degree in education. I attended the Marian University of Fond du Lac for a Master of Science degree in educational leadership. Prior to my work at GLITC, I dedicated 30 years of my professional career to education, working in the schools as a principal and classroom teacher. Working in the school systems has given me a deep understanding of adolescents and family dynamics. In addition, I gained a deep appreciation and understanding of the vital role that Tribal culture and language teachings and practices have in the healing process for Native Americans of all ages.

The NCREW staff has met with most of the GLITC member Tribes to gather input and ensure each Tribe’s voice is heard and intertwined in developing a culturally relevant substance use program that is tailored for Native youth. Meeting with the Tribes has been an honor and a highlight for me. Conversations have been filled with excitement and hope about healing for our youth.

Outside of work, I love working in my yard on my flower garden and walking my dog. My family members include my husband, my mother, three children, and two grandchildren. I am happy 
to be at GLITC and excited to work with all of you.
